What are Migraines?

Migraine headaches can appear between early adolescence and middle age adults. Migraines have been found to occur to woman more often then men and could be also be genetic within your family history. Some woman have reported that while pregnant they had fewer migraines then beforehand.  A migraine is caused by abnormal brain activity, which can be triggered by a number of factors such as alcohol, stress and anxiety, certain odors or perfumes, loud noises or bright lights, and smoking may trigger a migraine. Like tension headaches, migraine can also be triggered by caffeine withdrawal, changes in hormone levels, sleep patterns, over exercise, missed meals, or certain foods.

Some symptoms that could be warning signs of a headache could be coming is temporary blind spots, blurred vision, eye pain, tunnel vision, difficulty concentrating, as well as anxiety or irritableness.  Migraine headaches can be dull or severe and usually are felt behind the eye or the back of your head or neck. the pain with these heaches can range from throbbing, pounding or pulsating and typically will last anywhere from 10 to 48 hours.

Migraine headaches are one of the worst types of headaches that can occur because the symptoms can last for quite some time and often drugs  are unable to resolve the pain.
