Summer is almost here!

With summer being right around the corner, the chances of sports or recreational activity injuries will be on the rise. Although we can't predict or prevent an injury to occur, we can help with some precautionary items as well as aftermath items.

Before any exercise or rigorous activity, stretch all your muscles. Some helpful ways to remember is starting at one part of your body and work your way from either top to bottom or bottom to top. The method that works best, I would suggest top to bottom. Stretching helps the body prepare for your activity and can also prevent some stiffness or soreness that could occur days after the activity.

If something were to occur while outside enjoying the weather, like a sprained ankle. We would suggest you treating the sprain first with some ice and then coming into the office for Dr. Gallentine to evaluate the sprain.

We want all of our patients to enjoy the summer weather and want to make sure if they were to have some pain, come in our office and we can get you back to enjoying your time poolside.
