Ankle Sprains & Chiropractic
An ankle sprain occurs when a ligament is stretched beyond its normal range of motion. Usually, the ligaments in the ankle stretch and go back to their normal positions. There are different levels of sprains which include a mild sprain, moderate sprain, and a severe strain.
A mild sprain is a grade one sprain that can occur when there is mild stretching causing damage to the fibers of the ligament. A moderate sprain occurs when there is a partial tearing of the ligament and looseness of the ankle joint. A severe strain usually means there is a complete tear in the ligament.
