Hydrate for Health and Healing

Medical studies have proven that water regulates your body temperature and lubricates your joints. It also helps transport nutrients to give you energy and keep you healthy. If you’re not properly hydrated, your body can’t perform at its highest level. You may experience fatigue, muscle cramps, dizziness, or more serious symptoms. When you are recovering from an injury, your body needs to be properly hydrated to help in the healing process. The doctors at Greater Cincinnati Chiropractic would like to remind you to stay hydrated, especially in this very hot and humid summer season. It is also important to follow the recommended intake throughout the year.

How much water should we drink each day? “The Institute of Medicine determined that an adequate intake (AI) for men is roughly about 13 cups (3 liters) of total beverages a day. The AI for women is about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of total beverages a day.”

Make a healthy change by simply following the daily intake fluid requirements. It is easy to do, and will have many benefits for you. Try following this advice from your Chiropractors here at Greater Cincinnati Chiropractic.

  • Drink a glass of water or other calorie-free or low-calorie beverage with each meal and between each meal
  • Drink water before, during and after exercise
  • Always seek the advise of your doctor and discuss any concerns that you may have.
