Frequently Asked Questions

What KINDS of Conditions Do Chiropractors Treat?

Chiropractic treatment focuses on your muscles, vertebrae, joints, tendons, and ligaments. The treatment may be a good choice if you experience joint, muscle or nerve pain after a car accident, fall or another type of injury. Accidents aren't the only cause of pain. Fortunately, your chiropractor can also treat back, neck or shoulder pain related to poor posture. Pain and stiffness can occur when your spine becomes misaligned. Misaligned vertebrae in your spine and tight muscles may also press on your nerves, triggering or increasing pain.

Chiropractic treatments are designed to improve the alignment of the spine, ease muscle tension and stiffness, relieve pressure on nerves, decrease inflammation, and improve range of motion and flexibility.

Recovery Process:

Each individual persons pain is different in their own way. So your relief time is unique to you as well. It takes months to heal your spine before you can expect to go about your activities of daily living like an extended amount of sitting, bending, lifting and twisting. Your back will possibly stop hurting early on in the treatment, but you will have to allow your spine to heal for at least 3 months before testing it with more strenuous activities. "Allowing the spine to heal" chiropractic activities may include simply remembering that you are healing even though you don't experience pain, doing your stretches and exercises, avoiding bending/lifting/twisting, not sitting for extended periods of time, etc.

Am I A Good Candidate

Chiropractic care is a safe, effective treatment option for most people. During your first visit, your chiropractor will perform a thorough examination, order X-rays, and discuss your medical history and symptoms before recommending a treatment plan specifically for you and your body. Here's a list of questions you should ask yourself if the chiropractor is right for you:

✓  Do you frequently experience headaches?

✓  Is your energy level low?

✓  Do you easily get fatigued?

✓  Are you suffering from recurring aches and pains?

✓  Do you easily get irritated?

✓  Are you experiencing numbness in your arms or legs?

✓  Are your shoulder muscles in knots?

✓  Does your neck often get stiff?
